Community Cares How Stoddard Cares During COVID19

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority

Members of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority donated boxed lunches to Stoddard’s staff in appreciation for their dedication and faithful services rendered on behalf of the residents and their families.

Metropolitan Baptist Church

On May 7th, Minister Darlene Stevens of Metropolitan Baptist Church, located in Largo, Maryland, delivered 240 face masks to Stoddard Baptist Nursing Home. On behalf of the residents and staff, Mrs. Remy Johnson, Administrator, extends much gratitude and appreciation for this act of kindness from Dr. Maurice Watson, Senior Servant, Minister Stevens and the Church Congregation.

Mr. Nate and Mrs. Jeannie Rose Barksdale along with their children, Chase and Estella, have been longtime neighborhood supporters and donors of in-kind gifts to Stoddard Baptist Nursing Home for years. Easter cards were given from the family and members of the Church of the Advent in D.C.

Flower bouquets were also sent from the Barksdale Family. According to Mr. and Mrs. Barksdale, “The inspiration began with our three year old son, Chase, who had a thought to pray for the nursing home every day!” They asked their son, “What should we thank God for?” And their son said, “The people at the nursing home!”

“We had fun and just wanted to share some Easter beauty and joy with you all, since you cannot have people come in person.”
